January Update in Photos!

Macy turned 8 on January 7th!!!  Still loving Littlest Pet Shop!

This big girl wanted to get her ears pierced for her 8th birthday!

 Snow!

I don't know what is up with everyone sticking their lips out for pictures these days!  I guess we are trying to look like gangsters!  Don't we look TOUGH!?

Christmas Time!

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas this year!  We are blessed with health, vision for the mission field, and more blessings than we can count!

Of course we have to make silly faces too!

 Christmas morning!

We were honored to be the special missionary guests at National Park Assembly in Hot Springs for Christmas!  They blessed us beyond measure!  Pastor's wife Alicia WROTE and directed an AWESOME kids program called Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas... it was AMAZING!  She is very talented!

They even let Macy play a sick kid at the hospital!  :)  She loved it!

Macy and one of her very best friends in the whole world!  Raegan!  Silly girls!

Update on Mia's Eye

We had our second post-op appointment this week!  Mia's eye looks GREAT!  On all normal distance tests her eye does NOT turn out.  On pushing her to look really far, the doctor did see a small tendency to want to turn a little.  We go back in 6 weeks for one last post-op appointment.

Overall we are still very pleased with her healing!  Thank you Jesus!  And thank you to all of you who have prayed with us!  We are filled with gratitude!

Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center is where she had her surgery - and they took her down a special hallway right before going to the OR.  It was filled with toys!  She got to pick anything she wanted to keep & take to surgery with her!  She picked out this pink pony!  She was pretty proud of it!

Sabbatical or chaos?

I'm not sure if you would say I have taken a month long sabbatical from blogging... or that life has just been chaos.  I'm betting for the latter!  Actually, things started spiraling out of normalcy right before Christmas!  Our first pre-op appointment for Mia's surgery was December 23rd in MEMPHIS (5 hours from Bentonville) - and we had to travel back 5 hours for her surgery on January 10th, stay through the 12th for the first post-op, and then travel back again February 2nd for the second post-op.  That's 30 hours of driving over the past month on TOP of our regular travel/speaking schedule.

So is that a good excuse for my messed up blogging routine?  :)

More in the next post this afternoon about Mia's follow up appointments!

Update on Mia

Sorry I have not posted an update sooner.... We have been on the road a LOT this past week...Mia is doing fabulous! Other than the broken red blood vessels in her left eye- you would never know she has had surgery! It is healing quickly- and she is as wiggly and energetic as ever! And the best news- I have not seen her eye turn back even once! Praying for that perfect healing and encouraged by what we see! I'm so thankful and so filled with gratitude towards all of you that have prayed with us!

Specific Prayer Request - Mia's Surgery

Our little Mia will be having surgery on her eye on Monday morning.  After seeing the specialist for over a year.... we have decided this is the best course of action seeing how we will be moving overseas this year.  Her left eye continues to turn WAY out when she is tired or looking at things far away.  The doctor will work on the muscles around her eye during the surgery to help turn it back in.

If we neglect to correct this - by the time she is 7-8 the eye can begin to stay out all of the time...and it could potentially just quit focusing.

We would be so blessed if all of our friends, family, and prayer partners would join with us to pray specifically for this to be a complete healing for Mia.  There is still a chance that this will only fix the turning by 80% - but we are praying for God to make this healing COMPLETE and WHOLE.

Pray that her eyes will be COMPLETELY healed, and that the alignment will be PERFECT.  Pray for the doctor to have divine wisdom during surgery and for it to go PERFECTLY.

I am asking everyone to please consider praying for Mia with us at specific times over the next 3 days.  Would you please take a few moments to pray for her at 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM until Monday?  That would be 7PM Sat night, 7AM Sun morning, 7PM Sun night, and 7AM Monday morning right before the surgery.

We would also be honored if you would have your CHURCH family pray for her during your Sunday services.  "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. - Matthew 18:19

We will post an update on Monday as soon as we are out of surgery.  Thank you so MUCH for your love, prayers, and support!

Hopefully after next week I will get back to my regular weekly posts!

Rise Up!

About 18 months ago, we began to sense change was coming. We didn't know what that meant, but it was something we just felt in our spiri...
